We put together this trail ride to help show members of Goodyear's Light Truck Division how the MT/R's did on the trail. The idea was for the people from Goodyear to actually drive some built rock crawling Jeeps running MT/R's! more

Goodyear Wrangler MT/R Tire Races To Domination
The Wrangler MT/R tire raises the standard for tire durability in off-road racing and rock crawling.

Tire Rack - Goodyear wrangle MT/R
The Goodyear Wrangler MT/R (Maximum Traction/Reinforced) was developed to meet some of the most punishing conditions found in America. From the rock beds of Moab, Utah to the mud pits at Goodyear’s San Angelo Proving Grounds, the Wrangler MT/R has earned the right to be called Goodyear’s toughest Wrangler Off-Road Maximum Traction radial. However, conquering mud is only one weapon in the arsenal of this tire, withstanding daily driving abuse is another. more

From AutoWeek's 2002 Buyers Guide:
"Braking (of the Chevrolet Corvette Z06) is fantastic. Aided by Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires -- designed exclusively for the car -- the Z06 set a new AutoWeek AutoFile record by stopping from 60 mph in just 105 feet. That beat the previous record-holder, the Porsche 911 Turbo, by five feet and the Boxster S by six.

On the skidpad (in third gear, with the traction control off) we encountered some understeer. Yet the Z06 posted an excellent 0.95g average vs. the 911 Turbo's 0.93g and the Boxster S's 0.92. We again believe the tires deserve more than the usual amount of credit -- they supplant the heavier, less-grippy run-flats on standard Vettes."

The (Ford SVT) Lightning hugs the road like Lycra on a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model. When combined with the limited-slip differential in the rear and specially formulated Goodyear Eagle (F1 GS) tires, the Lightning exhibits the best handling found in a pickup truck not sporting all-wheel drive. Any of the understeer you normally expect to find in a pickup during aggressive cornering was quickly overcome using the accelerator.
