Appearing on the Moon & the Indy 500

We thought that a trip to the moon would be a nice way to start the 1970s. To see what else we did in the 1970s, check out the timeline below.

1969 Goodyear's first $3 billion sales year — taking only 5 years to go from $2 billion to $3 billion

1970 The first tires on the moon, through the Apollo 14 mission, are supplied by Goodyear

1973 Keep America Beautiful, Inc., selected Goodyear's corporate-wide environmental improvement program as the nation's finest

1974 The U.S. Department of Health, Education, and Welfare presents Goodyear with the Outstanding Public Service Award for promoting the 1973 Social Security programs on its blimps

1975 All of the drivers in the Indianapolis 500 use Goodyear tires, marking the first time in 13 years one company has been the sole supplier
